Philosophical mentoring is neither new nor a therapy. In Western tradition, it dates back at least to pre-Socratic philosophy, meaning it is more than 2,500 years old. In other traditions, it is the form taken by the relationship between teacher and disciple. It is not a therapy. The well-being it produces is due to the balance derived from a clear mind. Knowledge and self-knowledge are hallmarks of human beings.
These sessions are conducted via Google Meet. The mentor calls you at the agreed-upon time and a 50-minute discussion ensues. During this time, he will focus on the topics and questions you propose. His role is to guide your reflection, offer new perspectives, and provide you with philosophical tools from different traditions for your growth. It is a dialogued, dialectical, and creative process that seeks moments of lucidity and transparency.
Although the standard session is 50 minutes, the length and frequency of mentoring sessions are flexible and can be tailored to your needs. We can arrange single sessions, multi-session packages, or ongoing support. We'll discuss these during our initial conversation.
Not at all! Philosophical mentoring is designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background in philosophy. The focus is on applying philosophy to your life, not an academic class.
Philosophical mentoring focuses on thinking, values clarification, decision-making, and personal development from a philosophical perspective. It is not a substitute for psychological therapy, which focuses on the treatment of mental health conditions. We can explore where your needs overlap and diverge.

How does philosophical mentoring address existential questions and life's deeper meaning?
Philosophical mentoring provides a unique framework for engaging with fundamental existential questions. Unlike rigid doctrines, it encourages a dynamic process of "mitologization" – your own "creation of meaning" – through critical reflection and the exploration of diverse wisdom traditions, both Western and Eastern. This journey aims to illuminate your unique perspective on existence, purpose, and values, fostering a "continuous self-unfolding" that transforms intellectual inquiry into lived experience.
